EALCJ - European Association of Labour Court Judges

EALCJ

The European Association of Labour Court Judges was established in 1995 as an independent body committed to the promotion of information and contacts in the field of employment law and judicial practice. Membership is open to Labour Judges and other judicial officials specialised in the field of Labour Law in all current and former Member States of the EU and the EAA. In 2023 the EALCJ was converted into a Dutch Association bearing the same name.

The principal activities of the Association consist of an annual Conference, at which we discuss a topic of general interest to Labour Judges, and articulation of judicial views in relation to developing legislative and associated initiatives in the field of Labour Law.

The Association’s inaugural Conference was held in Bath, United Kingdom, in 1996. Since then, Conferences have been held in a wide range of venues throughout Europe. The 28th Conference addressing the subject of “Harassment at the Workplace and the Labour Judge”, took place in Oslo, Norway on 6-8 June 2024. Reports from that meeting and past Conferences can be accessed on this web-site.

The Next Conference is planned to take place on 12-14 June 2025 in Warsaw, Poland, where the subject will be “The Modern Labour Law Judge”.
